Cornflake Christmas Wreaths
Happy holidays! Cornflake Wreaths are a great treat for the Christmas season. These are fast and fun to mix to and shape, and any age can get hands-on in the kitchen and help make them!
You can also get creative and adapt this recipe to any holiday—just change the food coloring and the shape! You can also replace the cornflakes with popcorn, puffed rice cereal, or any other cereal you prefer.
Note: This is sticky, messy fun! Use gloves or spray your hands with nonstick cooking spray to easily shape!
Cornflake Wreaths Recipe
Ingredients:
20-30 large marshmallows
2 tablespoons butter
Green food coloring
3 cups cornflakes
Red M&M's or other red candy
Supplies:
Large pot
Heat resistant spoon
Baking sheet, tray or cutting board
Wax paper
Nonstick cooking spray and/or gloves
Directions:
Melt butter and marshmallows in a large pot on the stove over medium heat.
Add 3-5 drops of food coloring to start. Mix to combine. Add more food coloring if needed until your reach your desired color. Turn off heat.
Stir in cornflakes.
When mixture is slightly cooled, spray your hands with nonstick cooking spray and divide mixture into 8 balls.
Shape each ball into wreaths by pressing your thumb through the center and pressing into the shape of a wreath.
Press red candies into the wreaths to decorate.
Let sit until set. Then enjoy!
