7 Snacks to Help You Stay Cool in Summer

Summer is still here and keeping cool is important. Here are our go to snacks to help keep your temperature down when the weather is too hot.

  1. Watermelon

A great way to cool off from the heat is snacking on some juicy watermelon. Watermelon is a great way to stay hydrated throughout the day and can be easily grabbed on the go. Bonus: freeze some watermelon cubes for an easy frozen snack.

  2. Frozen grapes

Remove grapes from stems and pop them in the freezer for a healthy refreshing treat to help keep you cool all summer long.

  3. Popsicles
Frozen popsicles are a classic way to beat the heat. Bonus points if you make your own healthier version by freezing your favorite juice in a popsicle mold like this one or disposable cups and popsicle sticks.

  4. Ice cream
We are pretty sure everyone’s ears perk up when they hear the ice cream truck coming down the street. Ice cream is another timeless summer staple to help keep you cool. Making your own ice cream is also a fun summer activity that the whole family can enjoy! Try this method using ice cubes, salt, and a ziplock bag.

  5. Frozen yogurt
Just like ice cream, frozen yogurt is another go to summer sweet to help beat the heat. Frozen yogurt pairs well with toppings just like cream. Top your yogurt with fresh or frozen berries, chocolate shavings, or pretzels for a satisfying snack. Bonus: freeze yogurt on a sheet tray with toppings to make frozen yogurt bark!

  6. Cucumbers
Cucumbers are about 95% water and 100% delicious. They are a great way to keep you hydrated on hot days and can be snacked on as is, dipped in ranch, or made into a delicious cucumber salad like this one. Cucumbers also have electrolytes which helps prevents dehydration.

  7. Smoothies

Smoothies are an easy way to increase your fruit and veggie intake and decrease the heat. Using a blender isn’t cooking, right? Just throw in a bunch of your favorite fruit with ice and blend or head to your local smoothie bar. Bonus: toss in some veggies like spinach, kale, or cauliflower to boost nutrition without affecting taste.
