Chocolate Chip Cookies Video

Hi, everyone! It’s Kelley from Culikid. That’s how I usually start my videos and that’s how I’m stating today’s blog post because this one’s personal.

 This cookie recipe is the very first recipe I learned to make and was the first one I later learned by heart. It’s what first got me excited about baking. It’s where I first let myself experiment with different ingredients and different baking temperatures. It’s the recipe that first made me think about the science behind baking and what would happen if I changes something in a recipe. While these cookies sparked my kitchen creativity, this recipe is not far off from the original Nestlé Toll House recipe. Yes, I use the recipe on the back of the bag of chocolate chips. I’m not ashamed to say it because it’s that good.

So, when I think about being in the kitchen as a kid, this is what I think of—first standing on a chair to reach the counter next to my mom and later standing on my own two feet on my own. Warm cookies really are the feeling of nostalgia, huh?
